Ganache can be used as a glaze, icing, sauce, or filling.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 ounces chocolate (chopped into small pieces)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp flavored liqueur (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chocolate pieces into a large bowl. The higher quality chocolate, the better.
  2. Heat heavy cream on medium high until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and immediately pour cream over chocolate and stir until chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. If you plan to add any liqueurs, add it at this time.
  4. Allow the ganache to completely cool and set up. I put my ganache in the refrigerator to help it set up faster.
  5. Store leftover ganache in the refrigerator.
